Context

Our mailboxes typically contain several thousands of emails. Therefore it is very difficult to have an overview of all the data it contains and how this data evolves over time. The traditional list paradigm for browsing emails do not put into visual evidence the correlations between different emails about the same topic, or exchanged by a particular group of people for example.

Description

The goal of this project is to develop an extension to the popular email client Thunderbird. This extension will allow to use new paradigms for navigating through emails, e.g. exploring the social network of our email archive, view the evolution of email exchanges with a selected contact in time, relate topics and time, etc. If the extension is successful, it may well be used by thousands of Thunderbird-users worldwide, so be prepared...
