A Digital Cooperative - An Alternative Approach to Handling Personal Data

This Innosuisse project aims to find a new way to encourage users of digital services to share (personal) data. To this end, the concept of the cooperative is to be transferred into the digital world. Thereby, users become shareholders in the business model for which their data is used, for sustainable motivation and fair dealings with each other.

Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Agency. Its role is to promote science-based innovation in the interest of the economy and society in Switzerland.

The public-private-people-partnership project, led by Prof. Edy Portmann, will officially start beginning of March 2022, will be carried out in both an inter- and transdisciplinary way by the Human-IST Institute in collaboration with the University of Lucerne, the city of Lucerne, as well as practice-partners such as Swisscom and BBV Software Services.
