Open Postdoc Position (70-80%)
The Human-IST (Human-Centered Interaction Science and Technology) Institute at the Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg s looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work under the supervision of Dr. Anna Jobin on the project "Performing Artificial Intelligence—Governance, Agency, Action: an Interdisciplinary Inquiry", funded by the SNSF.
The overall research project is dedicated to the discursive, situational, aesthetic, and material constitution of AI. The team of Dr. Anna Jobin will focus on discursive performativity in the area of governance, with the future postdoc having some freedom in shaping the analysis of AI policy.
Your tasks
- Collaboration on the research project
- Publications and conference participations (national and international)
- Further academic activities within the team's areas of focus
- General supervision, coordination, and administrative work
Your profile
- Recently completed doctoral studies in a social science discipline (especially sociology, political science, communication science, STS)
- Strong interest in the research topic; interest in interdisciplinarity and theory development; reflexivity regarding one's own research practice
- Very good knowledge of various research methods and their application
- Existing expertise in the areas of AI policy and Swiss political processes is advantageous
- Excellent time management, ability to take initiative, and work independently
- Very good English skills in speaking and writing, good knowledge of German or French (passive knowledge of the other language is an advantage)
