MAS Courses

General Information

The MAS course and seminar component is worth 20 ECTS credits and is composed of 20 full days of courses, and 2 seminars. In order to fullfill the requirements for the MAS diploma, students must obtain 'pass' grades for at least 80% (ie. 16 ECTS) of these ECTS credits.

 

12 of the 20 ECTS credits come from courses. The curriculum includes 20 full days (8 hours per day) of courses, which will be held once a week (most likely on a Friday), over a 5 month period. The courses are divided into 5 themes:


 

Fundamentals: Covering the Basic Aspects of Humans, Machines and Social Interaction

Interaction Design: Covering the Key Aspects of Interaction Design

Interaction Techniques: Covering Techniques that are Particularly Relevant to Interaction

Interaction Scope: Covering Domains in which Interaction is Complex and which are Becoming Increasingly Relevant for Society

Digital Transformation: Focusing on How the Prevelence of Digital Technologies Influences and Potentially Enhances Individual Businesses and the Economy in General


 

The remaining 8 ECTS credits come from 2 semester-long seminars, one each semester, offered by the Human-IST Institute and worth 4 ECTS credits each. The topics of the seminars change every year and every semester, and MAS students are expected to attend both seminars. During each of the seminars, the student will have to participate, write a report and make a presentation.
