New one-day course: introduction to Artificial Intelligence
A new one-day training course in French titled "Introduction à l'Intelligence Artificielle. Comprendre l’IA moderne et générative : apports et limites" is now available through the University of Fribourg’s continuing education programme.
Co-organized by Prof. Jobin (Institute Human-IST) and Prof. Cudré-Mauroux (Department of Informatics), the continuing education offer provides participants with foundational insights into current developments in artificial intelligence, including generative AI.
The course is designed for a wide audience with no prior knowledge but interested in understanding how AI works, while presenting both potential and limitations of these technologies. The training session includes an overview of AI fundamentals, case studies, and interactive exchanges to foster practical understanding. The societal, legal, and ethical implications of AI are also adressed.
The one-day course is offered twice: on Nov 20 and on Dec 4, 2025.
