Human-IST officially became an Institute in August 2017. It is dedicated to research and training in Human-Computer Interaction combining expertise in computer science, psychology and sociology. Human-IST (Human Centered Interaction Science and Technology) aims to develop and evaluate new interface technologies that are usable, useful, and appealing to a broad section of people, compatible with sustainability criteria.
While digitization is often seen as an opportunity to transform our societal and urban mechanisms into more efficient services, Human-IST proposes to consider sustainability and well-being for a humanistic evolution of our society. Human-IST supports the promotion of artificial intelligence at the service of humanity, and promotes human values to support digitization: individual and collective sovereignty, sustainability and respect of the private sphere, equality and diversity. The approach to digitization is unique, humanistic and interdisciplinary.
