Sociotechnical Futures

Technology not only carries the promise of novelty and social transformation but also sets the contemporary stage on which production, interaction or mobility unfold. SAIS examines socio-technical futures from different historical and geographical contexts. The group investigates civil and military AI futures from global perspectives, decentering assumptions of global rivalry and market iinevitability. "Sociotechnical Futures" draws on expertise in (Constructive) Technology Asssessment and related approaches to analyse how sociotechnical futures are shaped in practice.
