"Perspectives in AI Ethics" taught in the autumn semester
Artificial Intelligence is not only transforming social life but is itself shaped by political, economic, and cultural forces. A new course offer focuses on the topic of AI Ethics and examines this mutual influence, from questions of governance and labor to political economy and alignment debates. With perspectives from critical AI studies and ethics, the course "Perspectives in AI Ethics" offers both a wide lens on current controversies and deeper engagement with selected themes.
The course is jointly taught by Prof. Dr. Anna Jobin of the Human-IST institute and Dr. Dominic Roser of the Institute of Ethics and Human Rights. While it is a recommended elective course for the new "Digital Society" master programme, it is also an elective course for the Ethics+ certificate. Students from other curricula are welcome to enroll as well.
"Perspectives in AI Ethics" is the first time the interfaculty Institute Human-IST and the interdisciplinary Institute of Ethics and Human Rights collaborate on an entire semester course.
