We are pleased to welcome Fandi Putra, who recently joined SAIS as a doctoral student supervised by Prof. Dr. Anna Jobin.

Mr Putra holds a Master’s degree from the University of Sydney and brings valuable expertise in the study of the social aspects of digitalisation. He will work on questions of AI governance within the SNSF-funded project “Performing Artificial Intelligence: Governance, Agency, Action – An Interdisciplinary Inquiry", examining the material and performative aspects of how AI is governed.

SAIS, the research group on the social Studies of Algorithms, Internet, & Society, is an interdisciplinary team that analyses digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet as sociotechnical phenomena. It is part of the interfaculty Human-IST Institute at the University of Fribourg, which brings together research on the interactions between humans and digital technologies.
